Fred Williams, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist with more than 30 years of experience.
He earned his medical degree and completed his internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins, followed by a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
Throughout his career, Dr. Williams has seen how a symptom-focused approach can fall short for people living with complex or chronic health concerns.
He believes medicine must move beyond a reactive “wait until you get sick” model and toward one centered on prevention, wellness, and long-term vitality.
As an advocate for functional medicine, Dr. Williams looks beyond symptoms to better understand the underlying factors influencing each person’s health.
His approach recognizes the powerful connection between the gut, immune system, nutrition, lifestyle, and overall well-being.
Dr. Williams also practices many of the principles he encourages in others. For more than a decade, he has followed a predominantly plant-based diet and stayed active through cycling and outdoor workouts.
Outside of medicine, he is an organic farmer and beekeeper—interests that reflect his appreciation for nature, nourishment, and intentional living.
His goal is to help people feel informed and empowered to take an active role in their health, building greater energy, resilience, and vitality from the inside out.
