If you’ve been around the infusion area for IV hydration in Springfield Missouri in our office lately, you may have witnessed me or some of our staff doing an intravenous push. What exactly have we been doing and why are we doing it? The latest (and in my opinion the greatest) infusion we have been receiving is called NAD+. This stands for Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide. It is a derivative of Vitamin B3 and an essential molecule found in every cell of our body. NAD+ is basically the building block of a healthy body that the brain, our internal organs, and neurological systems need to function at optimal efficiency. NAD+ is involved in multiple roles throughout the body including energy production (ATP), DNA repair, gene expression, cell signaling, neurotransmitter production, and enzyme activity.

Scientists have shown that NAD+ significantly decreases as we age. When we give (or get) NAD, we increase the NAD to NADH ratio. When our NAD+ levels are increased, our cells produce more energy, and our good genes are turned on. Increased NAD+ levels also simulate a process called mitochondrial fission or splitting. This process cleans up the defective mitochondrial DNA. Our DNA is repaired. Through this process, we can actually rid our body of potential cancer. This is one of the true benefits of NAD+.  Increasing our NAD+ levels also improve brain functionality. As a result, patients have experienced increased clarity of mind, better problem-solving ability, improved focus and concentration, increased energy, improvement in mood, decreased anxiety levels, and reduced cravings. It is recommended that you receive between 3 and 5 infusions initially to achieve the desired results. Each NAD+ treatment is done as an intravenous push in 60-90 minutes.

Repairing our mitochondrial DNA is a very negative energetic process and is like a work out for your cells. Thus, you will likely experience some discomfort during the infusion. I personally like that I and my patients experience some of these harsh feelings so that I know my cells are truly being repaired. Some symptoms you may experience during an NAD+ infusion include chest tightness, numbness and tingling in your arms or legs, abdominal pain, headaches, or sinus congestion. If symptoms become too uncomfortable, the rate of the infusion can be slowed. I experienced all these symptoms at some point during my 5 infusions but primarily headaches and abdominal pain. Some staff mostly experienced hand numbness and pain as well as abdominal pain and belching. Some experienced abdominal pain, throat tightness, and shoulder pain. Other staff experienced lower abdominal pain, throat tightness, and shoulder pain.

Now that most of our staff and I have completed our initial NAD+ therapy, we are happy to report the following benefits: increased energy, improved mood, increased mental clarity, increased focus and concentration, mental calmness, improved memory, improved eyesight and hearing, reduction in anxiety, reduction in migraine headaches, improvement in dizziness, and improved exercise tolerance.

NAD+ is a remarkable new anti-aging therapy and regenerative medicine in Springfield Missouri we are excited to offer. In my opinion, there is nothing else like it. If repairing your mitochondrial DNA, eradicating cancer cells from your body and improving your brain functioning is something you are interested in, NAD+ is the treatment for you.
